High Density Housing / Commercial - Addition / Alteration - Interior and exterior alterations and change of major occupancy from retail store (Group E) to Restaurant - Class 1 (Group A2) with two existing mezzanines at 848 W Hastings St (Air Space Parcel 5) of this existing Municipally designated Heritage B and 1 Mixed-Use Building. Scope of work includes installation of two new louvres at rear and ventless hood. 1) Interior alterations, with existing ceiling with glass panel inserts to remain as existing; decorative brackets, mouldings, and wall paneling to remain in place as-is; existing track lighting remain (with new light heads on existing track); existing terrazzo flooring to remain as-is; existing staircases to mezzanine and glass railings to remain as-is; and, existing alterations to add new metal louvers on rear (south) facade with colour to match existing cladding. OK for DB and mechanical grill at louvre per Eric Kai on Apr 4, 2019. Occupant Load = max 100 persons Sch A, Arch B, Mech B, Plmb B, Fire Sup B (Wet Chem), Elec B, & Sch D-1 are submitted. Building Review Branch Note: - All new work shall conform to VBBL 3.1.5 Noncombustible Construction. - Directional signs in conformance to VBBL 3.8.3.12 shall be posted from the main front entrance and from the elevator connecting underground parking to the rear accessible entry along the path of travel. - Outdoor patio is NOT permitted due to capacity of the washrooms.
